The panels are leafed in gold beaten by hand in the Nanjing tradition, a national heritage craft where tens of thousands of hammer strokes thin the metal to a film. The light it gives back is warm and diffuse, not glaring, in the spirit of tea-room screens. A quiet gold wall for a living room or tea space.
